Green Day announce a show at Royal Hospital Kilmainham with special guests Rancid for June 29th, 2017.
The American pop-punk band have released their 12th studio album Revolution Radio earlier this year. The record was produced by the band and recorded in Oakland. The album is a blitz of angst-ridden anthems. Lyrically, the record themes address the uncertainties and complexities of the modern day existence. Musically, the record is fearless, raw and visceral.
Green Day has won five Grammy Awards: Best Alternative Album for Dookie, Best Rock Album for American Idiot, Record of the Year for Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Best Rock Album for the second time for 21st Century Breakdown and Best Musical Show Album for American Idiot: The Original Broadway Cast Recording. In 2010, American Idiot was adapted into a stage presence on Broadway. In 2015, the band was engaged into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The band is Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals and guitars), Mike Dirnt (bass), and Tre Cool (drums).
Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am.
